A great place to start is Brownlee Reservoir, the 57-mile long reservoir separating Idaho and Oregon. Home to smallmouth bass, flathead catfish, largemouth bass, rainbow trout, and many other species, Brownlee has been called by experts the best warm water fishery in the western United States.
But if lake fishing isn't your thing, there is plenty of good fishing yet to be had in Baker County rivers and streams. The Powder River boasts excellent trout fishing, with catches in the 12- to 20-inch ranges in many spots.
One way or the other, Baker County can keep you fishing for your entire trip, or just a for a few hours.
